Baglama Saz, Elec, Ultra Pro, Yaygin, Blk Overview

Imported from Turkey where the Saz continues to be an important Turkish folk instrument. This electronic saz has a Humbucking pickup.

This beautiful Yaygin electronic saz has 5 metal strings laid out in 2 courses of 2 and on single. Each string has a fine tuning knob at the base of the face. As expected the action is very low. There are 24 tied nylon frets and 6 lightwood tuning pegs. The overall length is 42 inches. It has a 28 3/4 inch nut to bridge length. The body is 9 inches wide by 15 inches long by 9 inches deep. The neck and face on this saz has a rich marl finish. The body is stave construction with decorative inlay. The high gloss finish is very attractive. The bridge is unfinished. The hook-up, volume, bass and treble all have independent on-off switches. Soft zipper case included. String sets and plectrums are sold separately.

The Yaygin Saz is the result of over 30 years of mastering the manufacture techniques. The desire was to create a professional electric saz that could be used in the television studio and would provide superior sound quality. The Yaygin saz have been played and appreciated by masters such as: Kemal Arapolu, Motor Ali, Ahmet Ko, Fatih Doganer, Anthrax Mustafa, Mesut Celik, Murat Ozdemir, Krehir with Ismail, Gray Hafifta, Selahattin Alpay, Bedri Aysel, Mustafa Ugur, Sedat Ezen, Orhan Hakalmaz, Dindoruk Salih, Kemal Esen, Kenan Balsoy, the poet Mahmut Erdal, Orhan Ustundag, Ahmet Poyrazolu, Ismail Azeri, and many more.

NOTE Please expect the high gloss finish on the Turkish Saz to show dimples in the light. A perfectly smooth, unblemished, finish is nearly impossible to obtain with the technology employed in the Old-World finish process. These are handmade and such dimples are common and unavoidable.

Note: Whether you purchase an instrument on-line or from a physical store locally, it is recommend
